Joan attended Mary Grove College. She studied Math and Science. She went on to earn Bachelor's Degrees in both subjects. This was quite an accomplishment during this time. She also studied Medical Technology. She used her training in this field to become a Medical Technologist. She continued to keep her license in this field valid.

Joan was also an avid Stamp Collector. Her well planned and carefully designed stamp displays won many awards at exhibits. She was very proud of her stamp displays. Along with collecting stamps she had a very special place in her heart and home for all things Christmas! Santa figurines and St. Nicholas statues could be found throughout her home. She loved her trips to Frankenmuth and Bronner's.

Joan was a very dedicated resident of her Dearborn/Dearborn Heights Community. She was an Archivist at the Dearborn Historical Museum and the Henry Ford Museum for many years.

Joan's life was filled with things she loved! She enjoyed listening to Baseball games on the radio and Fantasy Sports. Most of all she loved her family. She was known to hop on Facebook regularly to catch up with her family.
Joan lived a remarkable life. She made all 93 years count! She was a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother. She has left many memories and the gift of laughter with her family.
