Obituary

On Thursday, December 16th 2021, JoAnn Kletzka, loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt and cousin, passed away at the age of 76.

JoAnn was born in South Lyon, MI to William Andrew Miller and Katherine (nee: Bertovich) Davis. JoAnn attended Novi and Northville Schools. As a child, she had fond memories that she shared often, of growing up with her siblings and time spent with her cousins. Upon graduation from Northville High, she began her career at Western Electric Telephone Company. There she met her husband, Theodore (Gordy) Kletzka. They were married in June of 1967. They have no children; she was always like a second Mom to her niece, Cheryl. During her career as an Executive Assistant, she also worked at AM General, Cummins and retired from Lear Corporation. She was passionate about working, took pride in her job and enjoyed being a "career gal," as she would say.

She had a personality that could light up a room; sweet, kind and was well loved by all. She derived great pleasure in trying new things and was always up for a new adventure. Among many activities, she enjoyed her golfing and bowling leagues over the years. She took pleasure in traveling with her husband Gordy, dining out and keeping a beautiful home and yard together.

JoAnn loved her family and friends dearly. She loved holidays, especially Christmas Day, which was her favorite holiday of all and one she hosted for many years. Even though cooking was not her thing, she made an award-winning Blueberry Pie, and her stellar Oven-Roasted Bean and Ham Soup that was enjoyed by all. Every autumn she looked forward to an afternoon of making the family Stuffed Cabbages recipe with her Mom, sister and niece.

She loved her husband Gordy, deeply, and they shared a strong, loving bond for a remarkable 54 years. Gordy passed away September 4th, 2021. Her father, William, and her mother, Katherine, preceded JoAnn in death. She is survived by her sister Mary, brother Rob (Kathy), sister Marsha, niece Cheryl (Jeff), and cousin to John (Sharon), Sandra, and Michael (Lori).

A private family memorial gathering will be held at a future date. Contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America by mail to PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or online www.DementiaSociety.org/donate.
