John Odell Oakley of Garden City, Michigan passed away on January 9, 2019.  He was born on August 19, 1925 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of Julia and James Alvin Oakley.  He attended The Tennessee School for the Deaf in Knoxville, TN where he met Martha Jane Brittain.  They were wed on April 26, 1946.

Mr. Oakley is survived by four children - Gene (Joan) Oakley of Shelby Twp, MI; Gary (Sharon) Oakley Gregory of Thompsons Station, TN; Rosemary (Oliver) Hawver of Garden City, MI; and Dorothy (Richard) Gramm of Addison, MI, and 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his 2 Brothers- James and Samuel Oakley.

Visitation Wednesday 3-8 pm with a 7 pm prayer services at John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.

Burial will take place at the Nolensville Cemetery alongside his wife of 52 years Martha Jane.
