John I. Putinta

John Ian Putinta was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on November 25, 1948. He was raised on a farm, went to work at age 15 and worked his way up to General Foreman at Chryslers and Dow Chemical. He married young and raised a family. He is survived by his four children: Lonnie, Jamie, and Stacy Putinta and Carole Seaton (Tex).

John cherished time with his wife, Sharon. He is survived by his wife, Sharon and her family— Andy and Pam Bode, Dan and Lisa Donehue, Eric Bode and seven grandchildren— Jessica, Drew, Beth, and Sarah Bode, Shannon Donehue, Bri Beier, and Eric Bode Jr. and 4 great grandchildren— Stella Bode-Moore, Mason, E.J., and Bennett Beier.

John loved the outdoors— farming, gardening, boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, hiking, biking, and a quiet sunset. He had diverse interests and loved food. He built a motorcycle, a log cabin home, restored a vine tage tractor, loved canning, barbecuing and putting up sauerkraut. He baked and put up jelly. He did most of these things with his wife, Sharon, who he called his soulmate. John liked the simple and uncomplicated things in life.

John passed away on January 3, 2026. John was cremated and a private celebration of life is to be held in the near future. John Santeiu and Son Funeral Home is appreciated for their part in John’s passing.
