Age 90

Loving husband to his best friend of 65 years, Joan Somjak.  Dear father of Valerie (John) Car, John (Deborah) Somjak, Steve (Beth) Somjak, and Elaine (Scott) Rose. Grandfather of Lisa (Johnny), Joanna, Amanda (Hiram), Alissa (Caleb), Matthew, Ashley, Andrew (Aubrey), Stephanie, Brian, Denise, Danielle, and Nickolas. Great Grandfather of Cordelia, and Nathaniel.

Bob was a longtime resident of Garden City. He was a wonderful man who never had an enemy, nor was there anyone who would utter a negative word about him. As soon as Bob met you, he considered you family. His genuine and sincere love for all was readily apparent as he looked you in the eye and gave you a firm handshake or a warm hug. Many people say they have faith, but Bob lived his faith in the most humbled ways.  He was a terrific Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Friend and Neighbor.

Visitation Friday 2 pm – 8 pm. Funeral Service Saturday 11:30 am at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to the Charity of your choice.
