John Eric Spears passed away on October 24, 2022. His final days were spent surrounded by the family and friends he loved so much. John's life may have been cut short, but his infectious laughter touched the hearts of many while he was with us.

John was born on June 27, 1953 to parents Juanita and Eddie Spears. After his parents divorced in 1954, John's mother Juanita would go on to marry Stanley Payne in 1956. Stanley always saw John as his son. It may have seemed like a non-traditional family unit from the outside, but John's bond with his step-father and 7 siblings was no different than if they were all related by blood. John's passion for family continued as an adult as he married Phyllis and together they raised her daughters Natalie and Amie. While their marriage wouldn't last forever as they had hoped, John and Phyllis remained respected friends until the day he departed.

John was preceded in death by his father Eddie Spears and his beloved parents Stanley and Juanita Payne. He is survived by his siblings, Edward, Loretta (Jerry) Bouchard, Nora (Paul) Moretz, Brenda (Valerio) Pomponio, Mike (Gina) Payne,  Randy (Michelle) Payne, Kevin (Jane) Payne and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his ex-wife Phyllis, and step-kids, Natalie (Robert) Farr, Amie (Tim) Gabel, Natalie's son Joseph Sines and his good friends Jack Holland, Janice Broniak, and his pals from Oakmont. He will be missed by many other friends that have shared his life.

Visitation Thursday 2pm – 7pm. Funeral Service Friday 10am at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Angela Hospice.
