Obituary

John was born in Detroit, Michigan, son to Frank and Helen. After attending St Francis de Sales Catholic School in Detroit, and starring on the football field, he married the love of his life Carolyn. Together, they raised their family primarily in Garden City, Michigan. To support his family, he worked as a sign painter extraordinaire for Jan Signs in Wayne, Michigan. John was a devoted family man throughout his life, volunteering at St. Raphael Catholic Church, and coaching and supporting his children in all their activities and pursuits. John enjoyed camping with his family, friends, and relatives in northern MI and rooting for the University of Michigan, Detroit Tigers, and even the Detroit Lions. Before being challenged with his battle with multiple sclerosis, a disease that eventually severely limited his mobility, and led to his retirement, John had treasured memories participating in epic croquet games primarily with his brothers, friends, nephews, and children.

Beloved husband of Carolyn. Dearest father of John (Kim), Tony (Victoria), Frank (Amy), Mark (Carly), and Amy (Kirk) Lewandowski. Loving grandfather of Joshua, Wren, Zachary, Noah, Lily, and Logan Taube, and Kate and Kyle Lewandowski. Adored great-grandfather of Jack, Pandora, Ryan, and Teddy. Cherished brother of Tom, and the late Joanne, Frannie, Jim, and Tony.
