Obituary

John Calvin (Jack) Vivian, 86, of Dearborn Heights, was ushered into the presence of our Lord Jesus as the sun arose, on the morning of Monday, January 26, 2015, while hospitalized in Detroit with loving family at his bedside.Born in Detroit, in the spring of 1928, he is the beloved son of the late John and Anne (Gallovich) Vivian.
John was an ordained Assemblies of God minister, having earned a Bachelor of Divinity and Pastoral Theology at Black Hills Bible College (now Beulah Heights University). He served as the National Director of Youth Services for the Assemblies of God and evangelized, prior to marrying Frances Talacki and pastoring a church in Monessen, PA.He also attended the Ford Trade School and was employed by Ford Motor Company for many years.
He is remembered as a life-long Bible student, seeking always to further explore and better understand God's Word.Gifted with a voice remembered by many, he used this gift to minister in song.He was ever mindful of and grateful for the work of Christ on the cross, the victory won there, and the mercy, grace and pardon extended to all who seek and believe. He is remembered in life by his dear friends as the "joyful and victorious one"; that joy and final victory now made eternally perfect and irrevocable, in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
John is survived by his loving family; a wife, Frances and four children, Cheryl Noel (Richard), Lisa Burkhardt, David Vivian (Elisa Krupa) and Kathryn Vivian; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Many cousins, nieces and nephews survive him.He is preceded in death by his parents John and Anne Vivian, a sister Shirley Melvin Cook and his great grandson Anthony John (A.J.) Saki.
Services and internment at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, Michigan are private.Prayerful support for John's family are requested and appreciated.
