Joseph J. Mendoza "Joe". Age 97. Joe passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024. Beloved husband of Carol A. Mendoza. Loving dad of Lydia, Desi, and the late Marion "Mimi", Carlene, and Joseph (Tonya). Stepfather of Pam, Deb (Dean), and Chris (Devonna). Dearest grandpa of Sandy "LJ" (Tracey), Desi, Neil, Vincent, Shawn, Sylvia, Robert, Theresa, Yvette, Nicole (Lundy) and the late Rico and step-grandpa of Adam, Max, Lauren, Carina, Audrey, Nathan, and Ava. Great grandpa of Santerra, Sydni, Sandon, Xochitl and Gavin. Dearest son of the late Deciderio and Julia Mendoza. Dear brother of Julie Placek.

Joe served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was employed at General Motors for 30 years. Joe enjoyed playing the harmonica and playing checkers. He loved the old cowboy movies and was an avid reader of cowboy novels. He enjoyed garage sales and could negotiate a great deal. He loved to travel. He visited many places all over the world.

Visitation will be Thursday May 30, 2024, at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m.until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m.
