Age 93

Beloved wife of the late Stephen. Dear mother of Stephanie (Ernest) Tozer and the late Stephen Jr. Mother-in-law of Dian. Grandmother of 7. Great grandmother of 10.

Josephine (Lisek) Rosol was born almost 94 years ago in Reese, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her four siblings, her beloved husband, Stephen and her son, Stephen Jr. Josephine was a homemaker and an employee of the J. L. Hudson Company for many years. When she began working at the downtown store, she sold layettes, and was then transferred to the film department. When the store closed, she retired to be a full time Grandmother and great Grandmother. She loved to cook for the family and she loved to do cross stitch and needlework projects. Everyone in the family was presented with their own Christmas stocking, cross stitched and personalized for them. Grandma's meatballs were the best followed closely by her golumpki (stuffed cabbage rolls), czarnina (duck soup), and kruchiki (angel wings).Christmas Eve was a special day for Josephine, as she prepared and served the traditional Wigilia meal for the entire family.

Josephine also loved to travel. She enjoyed car trips out west with Steve and journeyed to Alaska, Hawaii and many places in Michigan. After Steve's passing, she traveled to many places with Stephanie and Ernie (daughter and son-in-law) Marjorie Ann and Ray (niece and husband). If there was a car going somewhere, Josephine wanted to be in it.

We have many fond memories of times shared and memories made. We are grateful to have had her with us for so long. May she be at peace eternally, with all of the family members who have gone before her.

Visitation Friday 2-8pm with a 7pm Rosary at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 N. Inkster Rd., Garden City (Between Ford Rd. & Cherry Hill). In state Saturday 9am followed by the 9:30am Funeral Mass at St. Mel Catholic Church, 7506 Inkster (just north of Warren).
