Age 85, of Garden City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026. She was born on March 26, 1940, in Detroit to Florence (Baldwin) and Mark Beardslee. As a loving and devoted mother to Ryan (Amy) Hanson and Marci Lynn (boyfriend Derek) Hanson, Judy is predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald Hanson, her parents, Mark and Florence Beardslee, two brothers, James and Dale Beardslee, and stepmother, Gertrude Beardslee, along with other family members and friends. A former Garden City Head Start teacher, high school teacher, and district administrator, Judy held degrees from both Michigan State University and The University of Michigan, although she was always a Spartan at heart. Judy was deeply loved by her family and friends and her zesty spark will truly be missed. A special thank you to the staff at Comfort Care Livonia for assisting with her daily needs in the short time that she was a resident. 

Cremation occurred privately. 

A celebration of life in Judy’s honor will be held at a later date.
