Kate Marie Still, age 31, September 2, 2010. Beloved daughter of Peggy and Dennis. Dear sister of Scott (Jennifer) and Rachel (Jason) Rembisz. Loving aunt of Madison, Jessica and Kennedy. Niece of Leo and Chris Jekot and Pat and Doug Pelc. Survived by many loving cousins, friends and beloved pet and companion Pergo. Preceded in death by Nana, Grandpa and Peter Pelc.

Kate was an alumna of Henry Ford Community College and the University of Michigan who worked as a loving, caring and dedicated Jumpstart preschool teacher mentoring at-risk children at Thorne Elementary School in the Westwood District. She was a 2004-05 recipient of the Jumpstart "Spark" award and one of only 34 people nationwide to be honored with a Pearson Teacher Fellowship 2006-08. Kate also worked to help youths through Child's Hope, was an Americorps and Habitat for Humanity volunteer and a member of National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Visitation Saturday (September 4, 2010) 6-9pm and Sunday (September 5, 2010) 12-9pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd., (between Ford Rd. and Cherry Hill). In state Monday (September 6, 2010) 10:30am until an 11am Mass at St. Colette Catholic Church, 17600 Newburgh (bet. 6 & 7 Mile Rd).
