Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Kathie Jean Jackman of Oldsmar, Florida. Kathie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughters and her partner Karl in her home on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the age of 68 years.

Kathie was born on June 6, 1953, to Geraldine and John Goetz in Paw Paw, Michigan. The youngest of five children, Kathie moved to Chicago Ridge, IL at the age of 3 and spent her childhood years there until her family relocated to Dearborn Heights, Michigan where Kathie attended Cherry Hill High School.

By her early twenties, she came to be a divorced mother of two daughters. Ever the determined and uncompromising woman, she rose to the occasion and brought up her daughters, largely on her own - instilling in them the same strength, tenacity, and courage she herself embodied.

At the age of 30, Kathie married her second husband and remained his loving partner until his untimely death in 2003.

Kathie lived a full life as a wonderful mother, wife, homemaker, and worker in the hospitality, service, and Health & Wellness industries.

She was a phenomenal cook, kept an immaculate house, and passionately pursued her interest in nutrition, supplements, and Alternative Medicine through a lifetime of study and work with top vitamin and supplement manufacturers.

Her family and closest friends were her main focus and she worried over and took care of them until the end, sometimes to the exclusion of her own needs.

She loved fiercely and deeply -with her whole heart and soul.  She was thoughtful, generous, and kind.  Always there for the people she loved -to cheer them on, give support, or to lend a helping hand.

She was the definition of class and grace -a true Lady.  Beautiful inside and out...and a person of integrity -loyal, honest, and sincere.

It would be wrong to say Kathie lost her battle with cancer, because she never stopped fighting.  Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 20 years, Bill Jackman; sister, Carol Sauve; brother-in-law, Larry Sauve; and her parents.

She will be lovingly remembered by her significant other of 17 years, Karl Early; daughters: Katie and Julie (Lana); grandson: Asher; brothers John Goetz and Phillip (Lyn) Goetz; sister; Nancy Goetz (Mike Faust); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Visitation will be held at 10:00am and Memorial Service at 11:30am on Saturday, June 4, 2002 at Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd., Garden City, MI 48135 .
