Kathy grew up in Garden City, graduating from GCHS in 1974. A few years later, as a stay at home mom, the opportunity came up to enroll in nursing school. She graduated as an LPN from Schoolcraft College and after getting hired at Garden City Hospital, went on to become an RN.
Kathy loved being a nurse, she put in 22 years at GC Hospital, then finished her career out at Fresenius Dialysis Center as a dialysis nurse. Retiring in 2014 she kept busy joining GC Kiwanis, Commission on Aging, St. Linus Women's Club, GC Garden Club and working at GC Thrift Store.
Kathy was a very generous person with some great "one liners". She enjoyed parties, get togethers, and holidays (always bringing the deviled eggs).
Her favorite things on earth besides her family and friends, were gardening and her love for Mackinac Island. She loved the island and anything associated with the movie "Somewhere in Time". Her house was adorned with many mementos from there.
Kathy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Thank you to Angela Hospice for their care and compassion.
