Lila Rubylee Meixner (nee: Dicho) died in Dearborn Heights, Michigan on December 2, 2014.
Born on June 30, 1924, in Redfield, South Dakota, Lila later moved with her family to Michigan. She married John Orville Meixner, Sr. and had four children. Lila loved to garden and took great pride in tending to her yard. She worked for many years at Sew & Save Fabric's before going to work for Meijer, where she later retired. Lila loved to listen to music and watch her grandchildren play; both always put a smile on her face.
Lila was preceded in death by her former husband of 42 years, John Meixner, Sr., her parents Alexander and Mathilda Dicho, and her brother Morris John Dicho. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dolores Dicho, her 4 children Sandra Meixner, John (Lori) Meixner, Jr., JoAnn (Stan) Jackson and Barbara (John) Maynarich; her 9 grandchildren Mark (Shanna), Stacey, Diane (Rob), Amie (Randy), Stephen (Amber), John (Colleen), Scott (Michelle) , Willy (Summer), and Brian (Jessica); her 18 great-grandchildren Brittani, Kaitlyn, Marriah, Tyler, Alexander, Wyatt, Dominick, Emma, Iain, Lillian, Jordan, Ivy, Gabriel, Jack, Nathaniel, Zachary, Luka, Moses; and her great-great-granddaughter Skylur. Visitation Friday at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral, 2640 Monroe Blvd. (near W. Outer Drive), Dearborn from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Instate Saturday 10:00 am at Hope Lutheran Church, 3640 Madison St., Dearborn until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
