Obituary

On Sunday September 5, 2021, Lorine "Midge" Stiehl passed away with her children by her side at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 93. Midge and her twin sister Corine were born to Lillian Augusta Herring and Martin Emmett Davis on April 26, 1928 in Waycross, Georgia. Midge spent her younger years with her large, loving family in South Carolina and later in Savannah, GA. Midge married the handsome marine, Ernest Joseph Stiehl on December 7, 1947 and moved to Westland, Michigan to raise their 3 children. Midge was a valued member of the community as a caretaker, volunteer, and Sunday school teacher. She spent the last decade of her life in Grayson, Georgia with her eldest daughter where she enjoyed attending Grace Point Nazarene Church, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Midge was known for her kindness, infectious laugh and delicious cooking. She inspired those around her with her charm, generosity, and sense of humor. She had an uncanny ability to make even strangers feel like family. Her joyous spirit will be greatly missed by all of those who had the pleasure to know her.
