Louis E. Burdick. Age 83.
Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather & great grandfather went home peacefully to the Lord on August 8, 2016. Louis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, JoAnn Burdick. Loving father of Linda (Keith) Balewski, Mark (Kimberley) Burdick, Karen (Bernard) Bradley, Jacqueline (Larry) Fobar and Kathrin (Martin) Gruetter. Cherished grandfather of Melissa (Brian) Dziak, Margaret (Kent) Fisher, Albert Balewski, Lorraine (Marty) Wright, Stephanie (Echasw) Stanley, Stephen Burdick, Anthony Bennett, Brandy Burdick, Emiley Burdick, Rebecca (Matthew) Bradley, Rachel (Luis) Landecho, Elizabeth Wood, Larry (Allison) Fobar, David (Danielle) Fobar, Nikolas Gruetter and LeAndra Gruetter and step-grandfather of Melody (Robert) Holmer, Bonnie (Patrick) Kendle and Luke Bradley. Proud great grandfather of Brandon, Alexandria, Colton, Jackson, Aleina, Logan, Caleb, Luis, Amelia, Tessa, Ryan, Autumn, Sebastian, Garrett and one on the way! Step- great grandfather of Naylanna, Nathan and Andrew. Louis was the oldest of 14 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Clarissa.
Louis proudly served in the United States Army. He was a great supporter of his community. He was with the Radio Emergency Team for many years before joining the Dearborn Heights Auxiliary Police. He was a hockey coach and an usher at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. He also enjoyed volunteering with the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of America, the Goodfellows, Manna Meals Soup Kitchen and Habitat for Humanity of Michigan.

Visitation Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home. There will be a Veterans Service at 6:30 p.m. and a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m.
Instate 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 4855 Parker Street, Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48125 until the time of Mass at 10:00 a.m.
