Age 89, of Garden City, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Born on December 13, 1935 in Portici, Italy, Lucy married her beloved husband Clyde in Naples on February 14, 1957. Shortly thereafter, she bravely immigrated to America and found her permanent home in Garden City, where she was embraced by the neighbors she adored and viewed as extended family.

An entertainer at heart, Lucy was known for her easy to laugh nature, engaging stories, and the occasional song and dance routine. Throughout her life, she found fun in bowling leagues, playing board games, and watching the American sports she learned to love.

A big-hearted person, Lucy's life purpose was caring for others, often through the gift of food. She spent many years leading the kitchen at Community Baptist Church and serving homebound seniors through Meals on Wheels alongside Clyde. Her greatest joy was hosting her family, routinely opening up her warm home for holidays and family gatherings filled with delicious food, including the milkshakes she made famous amongst her grandchildren.

Lucy is survived by her three children, Frank (Tara) Roberts, Jessica (Douglas) Chase, and Michael (Elizabeth) Roberts; six grandchildren, Sara (Emrys) Hall and Ian (Allison) Roberts and their mother Carol Roberts, Lauren and Jake (Kaylee) Roberts, and Joshua and Jordan Chase; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Clyde Roberts; her parents, Francesco and Maria Mayol; and four siblings.
