IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Ann
Mirabitur
February 4, 1938 – February 16, 2025
Margaret Ann (McDonough) Mirabitur passed away on February 16, 2025 at the age of 87. She is survived by many loved ones, including her sons and daughters-in-law Reynold and Elizabeth Mirabitur and Steven and Janis Mirabitur; her sister Theresa Gretch; and her sisters-in-law Mary Ann Mirabitur, who was also her best friend since childhood, and Judy Mirabitur. Margaret was a generous and reliable nanna to her four grandchildren Andi, Alexandra (Trevor), Erica (Rachel), and Steven and to her two great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Caden.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Reynold J. Mirabitur, with whom she shared a 61-year marriage until death did them part in December 2020. Margaret was born in Detroit on February 4, 1938 to Patrick and Mary McDonough. She graduated from Holy Redeemer High School in 1955. Margaret later worked at the Social Security Administration for 26 years until her retirement in 2003. For many decades, she was a parishioner of St. Raphael (now St. Thomas the Apostle) Catholic Church in Garden City. Margaret had a strong work ethic, an impressive knowledge of pop culture, and the sharpest memory. She prioritized the needs of others above her own, and she will be remembered by many as a loving mother, caring nanna, pleasant neighbor, and good friend.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Margaret's memory to Saint Therese IHM Senior Living in Monroe, Michigan where she received excellent care in the final months of her life.
