Margaret Theresa Orris. Age 98. Margaret passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Joseph for 67 years. Dearest mother to Lorraine (Fernando) Gutierrez, Dennis (Marilyn) Orris and Priscilla (Brian) Agee. Loving grandmother to Michelle, Jason, Heather, Stephen, Rachel, Erica, Adam and Neil. Great grandmother of 11 great grandchildren. Dear sister to the late Priscilla Preston and Peter Sheppard. Margaret was born in Balsa, Hungary on July 10, 1921 and moved to the United States as an infant. She was a charter member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and a member of the Detroit Musicians League. Margaret studied music at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada and at Wayne State University. She was an organist at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church and St. Albert the Great Catholic Church for 36 years and a piano teacher for 50 years.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Instate 9:30 am on Monday, January 27, 2020 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 4855 Parker Street, Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48125 until the time of Mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, Michigan following the Funeral Mass.
