Obituary

Margaret 'Peggy' Pavlik reunited with the love of her life, George, early on the morning of April 9 th .

She spent her 89 years on this earth as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend.  Margaret had some deep roots in and around the Detroit area and lived in Garden City for most of her adult life in the house she and her husband bought to raise their family.  They were blessed with four daughters who have kept their parents and their own families at the core of their lives.  She was surrounded by her daughters at her time of death. Margaret was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, some of her siblings and one of her loving son-in-law's Steve.  Peggy is survived by all her daughters, Karen (Steve), Shirley (John), Jan (Randy), and Shelley (Gary).  She was also blessed with nine grandchildren: Michael (Shannon), Nicholas ( Loretta), Kristin (Craig), Lindsay (Chris), Jenna (David), Ashley (Kevin), Derek (Emily), Meghan, and Macy.  Peggy and George continued to be blessed with great-grandchildren, currently standing at twelve:  Matteo, Mackenzie, Griffin, Mack, Lily, Eve, Margo, Easton, Connor, Beck, Harper, and Olivia.  Peggy was born to her mother Elsie and father Elmer and was the second of ten children. She met her husband while working at a corner store in Detroit and enjoyed 53 years of marriage before she was parted from George.  She adopted a puppy named Maggie who was her partner in crime for the subsequent years of life.

She worked for Garden City Hospital's administration for number of years, until her retirement.  She enjoyed traveling with her family and was a master of knitting who provided hats, blankets, and other gear for the entire family along with donations to newborn nurseries.  Her memories were made with those that loved her and there are too many of them to recount. During her entire life, Peggy was always able to be the social butterfly of any situation.  There are many stories of her traveling and making quick friends through conversation.  In her later years, she was affectionately known to only go by Grandma.  She was the family's provider of ice cream and coined the phrase, "Who wants ice cream, Grandma's buying!"  She helped take care of her grandchildren as they grew, and her great grandchildren when they were young.  Peggy loved the girl's pre-Christmas shopping weekends in Chicago, the annual Myrtle Beach adventures, and family cruises.

Peggy and George's love left an impact on this world and what a life of love it was!
