IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marie Joanne
Jones
June 9, 1948 – November 25, 2023
It is with great sadness that my sister Marie Jones has gone home to be with the Lord. Marie was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 9th, 1948 to Harold (1918-1988) and Zerlina (1911-1996) Kujawa. She was raised in Garden City, Michigan. Marie attended and graduated from Garden City High School East (Class of 1966). She was a straight A student throughout her years of school. Marie was the sister of Gian Carla D'Agnillo (1935-2009), Ennio D'Agnillo (1930-2023), Tina Dugener and Brother-in-law Norm Dugener. She was a mother to her beloved daughter Valerie Cardamone (John) and beloved son Kevin Baker (Patti). She was the grandma to her beloved granddaughter Cortney Bretz (Adam) and grandsons Trevor Mimnaugh, Seth Baker and Jacob Baker. She was also the grandmother to three beautiful great grandchildren. She was the aunt to her nephews Michael, David, and Paul D'Agnillo, and three great grand nephews and one great grand niece. She was the cousin to Kenneth Kujawa (1954-2022) (Wendy), Steve Kujawa, and Ronald Kujawa. She has a nephew Frankie Chrzanowski, great nephews Antonio, Mariusz Chrzanowski. She has a nephew David Chrzanowski (Allison), great nephew and niece Gabriel Chrzanonwski and Sadria Chrzanowski. Marie had a beloved daughter in law the late Sarah Heberlein. She also has a niece Carol Bandy and great nieces Madison and Lexie Bandy. She has been best friends with her beloved friend Joan since Lathers Elementary School. She is the Godmother of Brian Halewinski who she just adored. She had a dear family friend Wade Craig who she thought of as a second son. She adored him very much. We are first generation Polish and Italian in America.
Marie had many hobbies. She did ceramics where she made beautiful angels and pictures of Jesus carrying the cross. She crocheted many beautiful, colorful afghan blankets for the family. She loved Football, Bingo, Euchre, Pinochle, and Rummy. She was an avid reader of history and biographies. She had a great personality. She was a wonderful mother who was very active in her children's activities. She was a great cook. Her great passion was going up north to East Tawas camping and fishing. She would have fish fry's and have the family over for dinner. At the age of 21, she decided to become a deer hunter. I used to tell her she could gut a deer like no tomorrow. Her love for East Tawas was passed down to her beautiful twins Valerie and Kevin who enjoy going there now. She loved her beloved dog Max who was a Dalmatian who was her companion & buddy and never left her side. She had him cremated and put in a clean paint can. She wanted his remains to be buried with her. Cemeteries do not allow that. Perhaps the twins can take him to East Tawas and he can be scattered in a place that she loved so dearly. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Ti amo sorella mia. The meaning: I love you sister of mine.
May you rest in Peace
