Clifford, age 92, passed away peacefully March 2, 2017 in Sandy, Utah. Marjorie, age 90, passed away peacefully, June 9, 2017 in Sandy, Utah.
Clifford and Marjorie were married 1946 and last November they celebrated 70 years together. After Clifford passed away, Marj struggled to overcome his loss and we are sure they are happily together again.
Clifford was born December 21, 1923 in Highland Park Michigan to El Nathan and Theresa Thompson Rayl. He grew up in Dearborn Heights and attended Fordson High School. He joined the Army and served in the Philippines during WWII. Cliff worked as a nurse for Wayne County General (Eloise) Hospital and later moved into plant security at Fisher Body from where he retired. His favorite hobby was reading and he was seldom without a book in hand. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and Elks Club.
Marjorie was born May 29, 1927 to Winnifred and Elmer Barnett and grew up in Garden City. She graduated from Fordson High School and received an associate degree from Schoolcraft Community College. Marjorie worked as a secretary for the Garden City Board of Education and moved to Fisher Body from where she retired. One of her hobbies was crocheting and she enjoyed gifting to family and friends.
in 2003, Marj and Cliff moved to Sandy, Utah to be closer to their grandchildren.
A celebration of Marj and Cliff's lives will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017. Visitation will begin at 11am, followed by the 12 noon Service.
Luncheon will follow at a local restaurant.
Interment at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West has taken place. (Garden of Devotion, Section 183, Sites 1 &2)
