Mary Corey (née Drabicki) of Johns Creek, Georgia, formerly of Dearborn, Michigan, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on March 13, 2026, at the age of 97.
Born in Detroit on April 17, 1928, Mary was the youngest of eleven children of Joseph and Sophia Drabicki. She grew up in Detroit and attended St. Hedwig School for both her elementary and high school education, where her lifelong Catholic faith was first nurtured.
Mary built her career at Action Data in the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit. A graceful and accomplished ballet dancer in her younger years, she carried that love of movement and music throughout her life. She also enjoyed golf and bowling, and was happiest in the company of friends and family. For many years she was a devoted member of Divine Child Church in Dearborn, and she gave generously of her time as a volunteer at Oakwood Hospital, where her warmth made an impression on patients and staff alike.
In the 1990s, Mary moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to be close to her son and his family. In 2022, she relocated with them to the Atlanta area, where she spent her final years surrounded by love.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Sophia Drabicki; her husband, Bill; and her ten siblings. She is survived by her son, Steve Corey, and his wife, Andrea, of Johns Creek, Georgia; and her cherished grandchildren, Gabriella and Aidan.
Those who knew Mary will remember her as always happy, always positive — a woman whose warmth, grace, and quiet strength touched everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by all.
Memorial Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 2-7pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son, Inc., 1139 N. Inkster Road, Garden City (between Ford Road and Cherry Hill).
