Obituary

Mary Judith (Judy) Rhodes was born in Detroit Michigan on September 2nd, 1945. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Daniel and Denise Johns., many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Judy is preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth Methia (Cardinal) and John Charles Johns, her brothers and sisters – Norine and Joseph DePlanche, Nancy and Bill Myers, John (Jackie) Johns, and Joyce Johns.

Raised in Dearborn, she attended Divine Child and was part of the first graduating class in 1963. She worked in the accounting department for the City of Inkster from 1965-1990. Upon leaving the city, she transferred to Inkster Housing, as an Accounting Specialist I, until her retirement in 2009. Judy was great in accounting and very reliable. After her retirement she moved to Westgate Towers and enjoyed spending time with her friends and delivering meals for Meals on Wheels.

Judy always thought family was important. Although she never had children, her "kids" were her nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her "AJ". If she wasn't spending holidays with her brother and his family she was with her nieces and nephews.

She also was an avid pet lover. Many remember Smokie, Callie and Molly. Her most recent was Pumpkin, who now lives with her brother.
