Mary Slimak, originally of Detroit, passed away on June 8, 2022 at the age of 78.

Loving mother of Duane (Erin) Aleo and Ann Marie (Keith) Dunn. Beloved sister of William (Kathy) Cusenza and Betty (Mark) Rakowski. Dear grandmother of Allie and Jasmine Aleo, and Joshua, Marisa and Madelyn Dunn. Devoted aunt to Michael and Andrew Sheldon. She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Anna Cusenza and grandparents Vito and Alberta Campo and Vito and Maria Cusenza.

Despite many years of ill health, Mary never lost her outgoing and positive outlook. Mary was the ultimate 'people person' and was always very active socially with her many friends, neighbors and church groups. Most important to her however, was family, doting on her grandchildren and nephews. She derived great pleasure from planning and cooking for family gatherings. She was an avid gardener, enjoying spending time outdoors and earning beautification certificates from the City of Dearborn Heights. She was most noted for her master baking skills. Mary's cannolis were the highlight of any holiday celebration.

Visitation Sunday 2 pm – 8 pm with a 7 pm Rosary at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home. In state Monday 12:30 pm followed by the 1pm Funeral Mass at Church of the Divine Child.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Angela Hospice.
