IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patrick G.
Carney
February 11, 1932 – July 18, 2018
Pat lived in Detroit and Dearborn, Michigan. He married his wife, Peggy in July 1956. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage before Peggy was called home to the Lord. Loving dad of Dan (Michelle) Carney, Mary Ellen (Allen) Rievert, Susan Carney, Michael F. Carney and Tim Carney. Cherished grandpa of Erin, Katie, Sean and Shannon. Great grandpa of Grace. Dear brother-in-law of Jim (the late Ellen) Flynn and the late Maureen Flynn. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. As a family man, Pat coached his sons' sports teams and was involved in Boy Scouts, having been an eagle scout himself. Pat enjoyed celebrating his family's accomplishments, events and holidays. We thank Pat for his service in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956 as a radio operator stationed in Germany. He was an engineer for Michigan Bell (now AT&T) where he conducted field work and computer programming.
Religion was important to Pat. He attended daily Mass, was an usher and sang in the choir. Patrick also loved music. In addition to singing in his church choir, he sang in various other civic choirs for over 40 plus years! Hitting the high notes in life, Pat was a selfless volunteer in his community and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He received an award for Volunteer of the Year, for his work with Dearborn Meals on Wheels! In his leisure, Pat enjoyed visits in the park and sports- particularly golf and bowling.
