Peter Byrne Kerr passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Pete was born in 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to Ivin and Jane Kerr. He graduated from Dearborn High School in 1971 and went on to receive a degree from Eastern Michigan University in criminal justice in 1978. He was employed by the State of Michigan for 25 years and retired in 2011.

Pete is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy (Brighton) and their children, William Earl, (Nikki) and David Edward. Forever cherished by his brother John (Katherine) and sister Sue (Rick), numerous nieces and nephews and too many friends to count.

Pete loved being with his family. This past May he was able to complete his bucket list by traveling to Ireland and Scotland with everyone. He also loved being at his second home in Homer, Michigan, as well as Traverse City and Gun Lake. He was known to frequent Dearborn's Buffalo Wild Wings where everyone knew his name.

There will be a private service for the family. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
