Rene Robert Linden was born on April 27, 1913 in Paris, France to Antoine and Marie (nee: Freppel) Linden. He passed away peacefully, at the age of 98, on March 20, 2012 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn. Rene was raised in New York, NY and was a longtime resident of Grosse Pointe from 1942 to 1970. Rene retired after a 45 year career with Michigan Bell Telephone Company. He and his wife, Rosanne moved to Farmington Hills for 36 years until moving to Oakwood Common in 2006. Most importantly, he was an exceptionally devoted family man, remembered for his kindness, optimism, generosity, and overall love of people. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Rosanne Rudesill Linden. Loving father of Joan M. (Charles) Gibson, Barbara L. Mulholland, Robert M. Linden, David S. Linden and Richard C. (Jeanie) Linden. Proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 16101 Rotunda Drive, Dearborn, MI 48120 on Friday, May 4th at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Healthcare Foundation (Specify: Oakwood Common Scholarships), 15500 Lundy Parkway, Dearborn, MI 48126 or Arbor Hospice, 2366 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48103 or to St. Joseph Catholic Church. A private interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
