Obituary

Richard was a simple man that valued the time spent with his dear family and friends. He took pride in rooting for his local athletic teams whether it be the Detroit Tigers on Opening Day or the Michigan Wolverines. Richard also enjoyed volunteering his time by coaching youth sports. As a grandfather, Richard was gifted the nickname "Papa Doughboy" due to his experiences as a baker for a neighborhood grocery store as well as his warm and comforting personality. With an unmistakable laugh and an eagerness to share his glee with others, Richard will be remembered as a truly authentic man that cherished life, love and laughter.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Edna Bayliss. Richard was the beloved husband of Anita Bayliss for 54 years. A loving father of Richard Jr., Mark (Tammy) and Jaclyn Bayliss (Christina Simpson). Grandfather of Tara, Richard III, Kelsea and Seth Bayliss. Great grandfather of Bristen Cekander and Ryleigh Bayliss. Brother of Carol Falkerson, Sheryl Brown and Howard (Lidia) Bayliss. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
