Age 74

Beloved husband of the late Anne E. Loving dad of Elizabeth (Joseph) McGrail, and Sarah (Gregory) Mericsko. Cherished grandpa of Meadow Mericsko, Emma McGrail, and Linda McGrail. Dearest brother of Robert (Sara), Patricia (Tom) Denton, Joseph (Cathy), Mary Anne, Daniel (Beth), David (Theresa), Susan (Marc) Shaver, John, Patrick, Paul (Rose), Anne Marie (David) Prouty, and the late Kathleen Minth. Loving son of the late Joseph and Mildred. He was very dearly loved and will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Richard grew up in Dearborn and attended Divine Child schools. He married his wife, Anne, and they had two children together (Elizabeth and Sarah).  He loved his daughters very much and would do anything for them. He was also a family man, helping his parents and siblings in any way he could. He never expected anything in return. Richard was an incredibly caring, compassionate, kind and humble person. He never judged anyone and anyone he met realized what a special person he was.  He will be missed by many.

Visitation Sunday 2 pm - 8 pm with a 7 pm Rosary at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home. In state Monday 9:30 am until the 10 am Funeral Mass at Church of the Divine Child, Dearborn.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Angela Hospice.
