Age 63.

Beloved Husband of the late Julie. Loving father of Kyle, Sarah (Tim) Hackbarth, and Jamie (Mitch) Eberle. Dear brother of Elaine (Ed) Vella, Christine, Ed (Kim), Paul (Brenda), and the late John and Robert. He was very dearly loved and will be deeply missed by many family members and friends.

Richard lived life with a smile, a joke at the ready, and a passion for celebrating with the people he loved. Calling himself a "Party Specialist" wasn't just a funny line on his business card, it was the way he lived. Finding every reason to gather family and friends together, especially at his annual Halloween parties and bonfires.

He loved to travel, often saying, "I'll pack my bags," at any mention of an adventure, no matter where the road might lead. Richard worked hard, loved deeply, and was always there for anyone who needed him. A devoted husband and father, loving brother and uncle, loyal friend, and generous soul, he leaves behind countless memories of laughter, kindness, unwavering support, and a life that reminded everyone to "let the good times roll."

Visitation Monday from 4-8 pm with a 7 pm Rosary at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd., Garden City (Between Ford and Cherry Hill). In state Tuesday at 9:30 am with a 10 am Mass at The Church of the Divine Child, 1055 Silvery Ln, Dearborn (South of Ford Rd.).

A memorial Bonfire in the Woods will be held at the family home on September 26, 2026.
