Age 91

Beloved wife of the late Adam. Loving mother of John (Marie), Joe, Mary (Dan) Williams, Peter (Kelly), and the late Steven and David. Mother-in-law of Michele. Also survived by her cherished  grandchildren, Theresa, Jonah, Brianna, Kasey, Phoenix, Spencer, Gracie, Anna Rose, Nicholas and his mother Mary, and the late Georgie Williams. Dear sister of Ruth, Herbert, and the late Earle, Edmund, Thomas, and Rosalie.

Rita was very active with the Catholic Church and with volunteering in the community.  Most of her life's work was centered on helping the elderly. She earned a masters in social work specializing in gerontology.  She was the pastoral minister at her church and spent most of her time visiting the elderly in the hospital and assisted living facilities.  She was also one of the initial wave of volunteers for the Meals on Wheels assistance program in the city of Detroit delivering hot meals to home bound seniors.

Visitation Tuesday, March 19th, 2 pm - 8 pm with a 6:30 pm Rosary at the John N. Santeiu  & Son Funeral home.  In state Wednesday, March 20th, 9:30 am until the 10 am Funeral Mass at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church.
