Robert Gene Bantau, born November 17, 1951, in Detroit to Virgil Lee and Julia Bantau, passed away on October 28, 2026. Throughout his illness, he was cared for with steadfast devotion by Brenda Bantau, the love of his life.

Robert will be remembered as a man who found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life. He loved hunting, gardening, and spending time outdoors while he was able. Among the blessings of his life, nothing meant more to him than being a husband, father, and grandfather, roles he held with pride.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Bantau, with whom he shared almost 56 years of marriage, a remarkable testament to enduring love. He is also survived by his three sons, Robert Gene Bantau, Jr. (Danielle), Joseph Adam Bantau (Lisa), and Christopher Lee Bantau (Cathy). He was the loving grandpa of Chelsea, Renee, Carley, Brooklyn, and Cheyenne. Great grandpa of Adam, Nora, and Anastasia. The family he built and loved so dearly stands as part of his lasting legacy. Robert was also survived by his brothers Ron and Rick Bantau.
