Age 92

Robert LaFollette, of Garden City, Michigan, passed away on September 25, 2021.

Robert was born in Wabash, Indiana on June 11, 1929. He was a 1948 graduate of Wabash High School. After high school he served in the U.S. Army. The Army sent him to Germany, a country he fell in love with. In Germany he met his loving wife Hannelore. Robert worked for Ford Motor Company for 35 years, which included being part of its racing performance group. He played a pivotal part in the production of the GT40. Robert loved life! He never wasted a day. He had a passion for racing, engineering and gardening. One of his greatest joys was seeing the achievements of his six children.

Robert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hannelore, his children Ronald (Lil), Thomas (Diane), Byron, John, Renee (Joe) LaFollette-Archer, and Rochelle (Mark) Smola, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and his siblings Wayne and Ralph. Robert was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Florence LaFollette, as well as his brother Glen LaFollette.
