Age 83

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Providence Hospital after a short illness.

Adored husband of Barbara for 56 years. Much loved father of Kevin (Mary), Jacqueline (Frank) Herbst-Iannello, and Scot (Lisa). Grandfather of Emily, Vinnie, Michael, Jennifer, Christopher, Natalie and the late Anna. Great grandfather of Ayden and Andrew. Brother of Don (Betty) and Jim (the late Francine). He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Robert was born in Dearborn and raised in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from St. Hedwig High School in a 1950. He joined the Air Force where he was trained as a flight mechanic. He retired from Schuster Equipment after many year.

Bob had a contagious laugh and great sense of humor. He loved fishing, sports (a lifetime fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings) and especially his grand and great grandchildren.

Visitation Friday 4-8pm with the Funeral Service Saturday 11:30am at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 N. Inkster Rd., Garden City (Between Ford Rd. & Cherry Hill).

Family suggests memorials John Dingall VA Medical Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
