Age 80

Beloved brother, father, grandfather, and husband, passed away with family at his side on November 13th, 2022.

Robert (Bob) was born to Michael and Estelle (Klos) Prew on May 16, 1942.  He graduated from St. Hedwig High School in 1960. Following high school, Bob attended Radio Electronic Television School, receiving a certificate in Electronic Technology. He worked at Honeywell in St. Petersburg, Florida until he was drafted into the Army in 1964. In the Army, Bob served in Korea working on electronic avionic systems.  Bob returned to Detroit after the Army, married Christine Nippa in 1967, began his career as a Supervisor in Vehicle Research and Development division at Ford, and had four children. Bob was friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand.  He enjoyed driving fast cars and boats, spending time with his family and dog, teaching others about cars, golfing, bowling, fixing things, driving his 1930 Model A, and going to the weekly classic car show to visit and admire the other vehicles.

Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Christine, his father, Michael, his mother, Estelle, his father in-law Robert Nippa, and mother in-law Martha Nippa.

Bob is survived by his brother Joe (Marie) and sisters Barbara (Cliff Phillips) and Chris (Gary Zielke) and his children Greg (Angie), Jerry (Debbie), Steve (Sharon), and Kerry (Brian Kelly) and his grandchildren Jacob, Haley, Turner, and Madelyn.

Visitation will be Sunday 2 pm - 7 pm with Military Honors at 6pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Road, Garden City (between Ford Road and Cherry Hill).  In state Monday 9:30 am until the 10 am Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 31530 Beechwood, Garden City (at Merriman Road, 2 blocks north of Ford Road).
