Robert "Bob" S. Young of Garden City passed away on August 26, 2019 in Westland.

Robert was born in Detroit, Michigan to William Thomas Young and Jessie Sims on April 20, 1931. He married Margaret Lesinski on September 29, 1951 in Detroit Michigan. The two were married until her death in 2013. He worked as a machine operator until he retired at 62 years of age.

He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret and his son David. Dear father of Donna (David) Jacks and Kenneth (Nancy) Young. Loving grandfather of Ashley (Ryan) Mexinor, Kristy (Christopher) Paarman, Stacy Boland, Kelly (Gregory) Howell, Jennifer (Ray) Glenfield and Jason Young.  Great grandfather of Bryce Dupek, Niko Mexinor, Ayden and Maxwell Paarman, Kaylen and Tyler Glenfield.

Robert was a funny, witty, loyal, hardworking, generous man. He remained active and involved in his family. Robert will be dearly missed by all of those who love him and by all of those who had the opportunity to experience his kindness and fun loving nature.

Visitation Thursday 2 pm until the 7 pm Funeral Service at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
