IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert R.
Wing
November 4, 1949 – August 16, 2025
Robert Raymond Wing, age 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home in Garden City, Michigan. True to his ways, he went on his own terms, when he was good and ready.
Bob was a loving husband to Lee for 35 years, having spent a total of 37 years together. He was a great dad who will be missed by his children Lori Wing, Jeff Larente, Jan (Russ) Juliette, Jessica (Chris) Perry, Heather Benkert, Michael Wing, & Colleen Kasem. He was a beloved Papa/Grandpa to eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren! He is also survived by his brother Bill (Diane) Wing. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Bob & Pauline Wing, and his daughter Karen.
Bob was nineteen years old when he was drafted by the United States Navy to go and serve over in Vietnam. He served his country to the best of his ability and was honorably discharged at the end of his service. He spent most of his career in maintenance management, working at multiple apartment complexes. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix or build!
Bob absolutely loved his family – especially his grandchildren as they were the absolute lights of his life. He loved watching them grow. Holidays were his favorite. On Thanksgiving he enjoyed cooking the biggest turkey he could find along with all the fixings. He loved Christmas even more and he would wake everyone up insanely early (like 4 am) to open up presents, echoing the excitement he must have had as a young boy himself.
Bob loved to cook, and he would often dream up random things to make – sometimes they were great, and sometimes, well… even Queenie our dog would walk away. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, sitting outside in the sun, listening to music, and enjoying the simple things in life. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and he will be missed by many. Thankfully, we know it isn't goodbye, just see you later…
