Age of 92

Last surviving member of the Navy's LST 572 _~ Seaman, First Class, World War II Veteran. Married September 21, 1971, this year would have been their 47th Anniversary. They are now "Together for Ever" Widowed May 31, 2014, to Carol Ann Richardson-Rost who had 6 children by a former marriage and Rod stepped forth and helped raise these youngsters.

He was a loving husband to Carol Ann, and a caring step-father to Fred Rost (Ursula), Victoria Trujillo, Evie Noble (Mike) LeMoyne Rost (Kelly), Walter Rost (Yvonne), and Chris Rost (Peggy).  Grandfather to 7 grandchildren Miranda Flynn (Nathan), Maggie Van Sciver (Anthony), Hugo Rost, Nathaniel Rost, Ryan Trujillo, Gracie, and Carroll Rost. Great-Grandfather to 3 great-grandchildren Aeris and Elliot Flynn, and Gianna Van Sciver.  He has two surviving nephews Gill and Tom Milne in Pennsylvania.

Manager and President for 30 years at Grand Lawn Cemetery, during his tenure at Grand Lawn, he was active in the Michigan Cemetery Association as President, editor for 7 years of the Monthly Cemetery Association News.
