On the morning of April 15, 2021, Rev. Roger Stombaugh of Belleville Michigan went home to be with his Lord and Savior.

Roger was born to Floyd and Anna Stombaugh in 1944 in Wilmore PA. He obtained degrees from Baptist Bible College of Springfield MO, Pensacola Christian College of FL, and a doctorate from Northeast Baptist College of Theology in PA. Roger pastored three churches. His happiest years were spent at United Baptist Church of Garden City MI, where he pastored for 42 years. His dream of starting a school was realized in 1976 when he founded United Christian School.

He married his junior high school sweetheart, Shirley, on August 1 1964. Together they raised three children. He loved preaching and teaching God's word. He had a heart for missions. He lived out the great commission and led innumerable people to Jesus.

He is survived by his wife Shirley; children Becky (Perry), Steve (Jenn), and Rachel (Matt); grandchildren Michael, Liz, Jeremy (Brittany), Justin (Margaret), Daniel (Bethany), Christian, Ashley, Cameron, Caden, Seth and Reagan; great grandchildren Gunner, Keaton, Emerson, Tanner, Hunter and Sydney.

Visitation Sunday 1 pm - 5 pm. Funeral Service Monday 12:30 pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hope of Honduras - Hope Children's Home, 11415 Hope International Dr., Tampa, FL 33625.
