Age 61

Ron 'Obie' Thomas of Detroit and Redford, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2021. Loving father of Christine. Beloved son of Judi. Brother of Sharon (Ron), and Doug. Uncle of Noah, Justin, Joshua, and Lilyana. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ron will be fondly remembered by countless friends who treasured his companionship.

Know dearly as Obie by close friends, Ron truly was one of a kind. His big smile and trademark laugh lit up any room he entered. Ron loved to grill and was the chief cook at many family gatherings. He loved playing cards, particularly poker, and was a hard man to beat.  Ron also loved visiting the family camper at the campground near Jackson. Several years ago, Ron was involved in a fiery tanker accident. His skillful driving and quick actions prevented what could easily have been a fatal tragedy.

Family and friends are invited to say goodbye to Ron on Saturday, November 20 ^th from 2pm – 7pm and Sunday, November 21 ^st from 1pm until Eulogies at 4pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.

Donations in his honor may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Michigan Humane Society.
