Age 83  of Westland, MI, passed away on April 13, 2020. Ronald was born to Walter and Sophie Kacher and grew up in Detroit, MI. He attended St. Luke's Catholic School, during which time his most treasured memory was spending summers on his grandparents' farm in Lublin, WI. He graduated from Mackenzie H.S. in 1955 and joined the Navy, where he served with his younger brother, Walter. On Sept. 22, 1956, he married his sweetheart, Loretta Edith Otto. They moved to suburban Detroit, where they raised four children. Ronald was very proud to have retired from GM Fisher Body after nearly 32 years of service. He was active in the UAW, organizing family activities for GM families. Ron and several of his co-workers from Fisher Body enjoyed hunting, and purchased a property for that purpose in the Upper Peninsula.  Ronald was truly happiest there, hunting with close friends or vacationing with family. Ronald was also an avid bowler and golfer.

Ron is survived by his children, Ronald Kacher, Karen Grech, Mark Kacher, and Janet Fraser (Don). And also by his cherished grandchildren: Ronald Kacher Jr., Kevin Grech (Samantha), Julie Grech-Kramer (Tim), Andrew Fraser, and Emily Servo (Austin). He loved dearly his great-grandchildren: Austin and Alayna Kacher, and Carmen Grech-Kramer. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Joanne Kacher, Eileen Hoelzer (Gary); and brothers-in-law, Richard Otto (Marianne), Paul Otto; and many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Ron is predeceased by his brother, Walter, his sister, Barbara Steigerwald, and her husband, Raymond.

Due to current Covid-19 precautions, a private burial has taken place. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Ron's life as soon as is appropriate.
