Obituary

Rosemary Murphy, 95, of Dearborn, MI passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2023 surrounded by family.

Rosemary was born September 19, 1927, to Dorothy and John Harrington of Dayton, Ohio. Early in her life, she moved to Dearborn, MI where she attended school and continued on to raise a family and retire.

Rosemary was a 1945 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, where she met her husband, Jim Murphy. Jim and Rosemary married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and went on to raise three beautiful daughters- Pat (Dennis) Clark, Colleen Murphy, and Mary Margaret (Ken Rahamut) Murphy.

Rosemary was a devoted grandmother to four grandchildren- Penny (Justin) Lane, Jim (Jamie) Lane, Kelly (Paul) Kokoszyna, and Meaghan Rahamut, as well as six great grandchildren- Cecilia, Rosemary, Bella and Juliana Cantineri and Sophia and Ava Kokoszyna.

Rosemary was a loving sibling to Jack (Dorothy) Harrington, and Colleen (John) Fraser, as well as a cherished aunt, cousin, and friend to many others.

Those that knew Rosemary loved her contagious smile and kind spirit. Rosemary was a soft spoken, patient, elegant woman who always went the extra mile to make sure her loved ones were taken care of. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards with friends, scrapbooking and taking photos of her children and grandchildren, and shopping for jewelry and stylish clothing.

Rosemary was a sharp dresser, and her daughters often joked she always out dressed them. Anyone who knew Rosemary can recall the colorful outfits and matching jewelry she seemed to have for every occasion. Rosemary traveled to Ireland twice with her daughters and was very proud of her Irish-Catholic heritage. Later in life, she enjoyed attending weekly outings with friends to play cards and eat lunch as well as spend time with her grandchildren.

Rosemary will be greatly missed by many, as she led a life of love, compassion, and kindness that touched so many. Many happy memories and stories that trigger endless laughter will continue to live on in those that were close to her.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, and daughter, Colleen.
