IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Salvino Flask
"Sam"
April 5, 1957 – August 15, 2023
Salvino Flask "Sam". Age 66. Sam passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Beloved husband of Lily Flask. Loving father to Charles (Chelsi) Flask. Dearest son of the late Charles and Concetta Flask. Dear brother of Joe (Jane) Flask, Alfred (Anna) Flask, Karmenu (Carmen) Flask and the late M'Ann (Adolf) Casha, Rafel (Vickie) Flask, and Rita (George) Flask-Seguna. Cherished son-in-law of Edwin and Jessie Ellul. Dear brother-in-law of Vivien (John) Calleja and Cathy (Sonny) Agius. Dear Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Sam came to the United States from Malta at the age of 20 with his wife, Lily. Just a few years later their son, Charles "Chuck" was born.
Sam worked at Ford Motor Company for 2 years. He then attended Schoolcraft College for 2 years to become a welder. In 1984, he started his career as a welder at Quality Metal Craft in Livonia. He was employed there until retiring as a foreman many years later.
Sam was a proud member of the Maltese community. He was a long time member of the Maltese American Club of Dearborn. He spent many years as a committee member for the club; He also served as president, and held that position for 2 years. Sam was also a member of the Maltese American Benevolent Society in Detroit. Every Sunday he would attend mass at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. After Mass, he would go meet with his friends to socialize and reminisce about their homeland Malta. He would always lend a helping hand when needed and it was his pleasure to do so. He had very good friends there that will miss him dearly.
Sam was a very active member in his community. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his dog, Sofie. He truly adored Sofie; the two of them were inseparable. Sam's determined spirit will be missed in his community and especially by his family.
