Semiha Omer devoted her life to caring for others. A beloved mother, grandmother and wife to the late Ekrem Omer, Semiha passed quietly in her home on the morning of July 5, 2018. She was 88.

Semiha spent her life raising her three children: Sevil, her daughter, Serdar and Atila, her sons. She adored her children and dedicated her life to raising her family. She had the rare selfless love of a mother who always placed her children's needs first. Semiha was steadfast in her determination to have her children, first generation Turkish-American, succeed, do well and carry on the values in which she cherished: Integrity and dignity.

Her granddaughters, Sophie and Shelby, cherished their grandmother and affectionately called her the sweet-natured, sweet-toothed Super G-Ma.

Semiha is survived by her daughter, Sevil Omer, and sons, Serdar Aziz Omer and Atila Omer.

Semiha was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family, friends and extensive Turkish community.

Visitation Monday from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm Funeral Service at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd., Garden City (Between Ford Rd. and Cherry Hill). The funeral service will be immediately followed by her burial at at Mt. Hope Memorial Gardens, 17840 Middlebelt Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152.
