Sherry (Mailloux) Blackburn, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the age of 84.  Loving wife of Buford.  Beloved mother of Mark (Diane), Eric (Sharon), Bryan (Courtney), Theresa (Scott) Wynn, and Steven (Debbie).  Cherished grandmother of Christie, Katie (Daniel), Jessica (Ben), Taylor, and Ryan.  Beloved great-grandmother of Liam, Silas, Elijah, Evelyn, William, and Sophia.  Adored sister of Barbara and Marguerite.

Sherry was born on October 14, 1937 in Warren Township, and grew up in Detroit.  She graduated from Wayne Memorial High School-Class of 1955.

Sherry was a wonderful Wife and Mother who can never be replaced.  Her focus was always family which included being a mother of five and the best homemaker ever.  Family traditions included Sunday pancake brunch, hosting gatherings with a huge spread of food, family trips to Florida and Tennessee and of course camping!  As a parent, she never made it through one of her kid's band performances without crying.  She also enjoyed being a Brownie Troop leader.

She loved her coffee!  She often enjoyed talking to one of her sisters on the phone or talking with friends while sipping her coffee.  If she knew you were coming to visit, there would always be coffee and chocolate cake (made from scratch) waiting for your arrival.  In addition to baking, she was a skilled crafter which was handed down to her grandchildren.  Spending time with her grandchildren was the highlight of her day.

Beginning in High School, Sherry began her career with Kroger.  In her 25+ years, she began as a team member and worked her way up to an office manager.

Sherry had a strong faith in God, loved the lord, her family, and church!

We thank everyone who was a part of Sherry's life.  It is during these difficult times that we see how fortunate we are to have been surrounded with such amazing people.  She will always have a special place in all our hearts, and through our cherished memories she will live on forever.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 29 from 10am followed by a Memorial Service at 11am at Westland Christian Union Church, 1046 N. Wayne Rd, Westland, 48185.  All are welcome to join.
