IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steven
Dodge
November 25, 1957 – January 29, 2018
Age 60
Steve joined his beautiful wife on January 29, 2018. With his children, sister, and friends by his side, God welcomed Steve home to begin his new job as our Guardian Angel. In the wake of his departures, Steve leaves behind a legacy far too great to ever summarize. His charming sense of humor, vivid stories, and never-ending kindness left an impact on all. Steven was often to referred to as a hero by his children and close family friends. He and Jody opened their home for countless neighborhood kids and families, offered their free time to serve others, and gave everything they had to the ones they loved. Steven taught his children to be kind, giving, and to always find the small humors in life. Steven was a famous trickster among his friends, co-workers, and family, constantly finding ways to make the atmosphere lighter and never failing to get someone with the classic "pull my finger" line.
Steven strived for success in any position life handed him. His favorite career pursuit was being a general manger for a liquor distributing company, where he was able to travel the world with his dear co-workers. Steven prided himself on being able to turn around any struggling business. To him, it did not matter what the job was, he was determined to make an impact and work his hardest. Steve's most successful career was as a family man. He was the anchor for his wife, his children, his sister, and many close friends.
Steve married his soulmate, the late Jody Dodge, in 1983. His love for Jody was unparalleled. They raised three children, Dustin, Jack, and Devan, all who survive him. Steve is also survived by his sister, Laura Tingley, her husband Chris and nieces Sydney and Samantha as well as his brother Scott Dodge, his wife Amber and their children Brandon, Scotty, and Kenzie. Other very loved family members who survive him are sister-in-law, Mary Mix and her husband Carl Smith and niece Katrina; soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Katie; grand puppy Benjamin; numerous cousins and their families; and close friends and "second children" too numerous to mention in this short space. Steve is predeceased by his father and mother, Jack and Shirley Dodge.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10 at John N. Santieu and Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd, Garden City, MI 48135. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm, with the service starting at 3pm. Friends and family are invited to step forward and say a few words after the service. We hope you're sipping on piña coladas and enjoying the sunshine, Steve. You deserve it.
