When Tom was born in Detroit in February 1947 he became an 11th generation Michigander with his maternal grandmother's family going back to the founding of Detroit in 1701. 

Tom loved Detroit sports, the Lions, the Tigers, the Pistons, and especially the Red Wings. He loved watching movies, even reading the credits at the end. Tom did the same with music and read the albums inside and out. Going up against him in movie or music trivia was futile. 

As much as Tom loved sports, movies and music, he loved his wife, Nancy and his children: Scott, Kurt, and Tracy more than anything else. Home and family were everything to him. 

Tom will be remembered for his sharp wit and sense of humor, his beautiful smile, his kindness to others, his deep love for his family and friends, and for being a genuinely nice human being. He will be greatly missed.
