Vera Irene Russo passed away on July 15, 2019.

Vera was born in Wyoming, New York to Gregory and Irene (Bondaruk) Zinkievich on March 16, 1924. She studied chemistry at the University of Michigan, and worked as a chemist at Mathieson Alkali Works in Niagara Falls, New York during World War II. She retired as an executive officer of Simco Resources, and was a master gardener and founding member of the Dearborn Heights Garden Club. Vera also was a Wii-bowling champion at Waltonwood Twelve Oaks in Novi MI.

Vera was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel, her parents, Gregory and Irene, and her three sisters, Tess Walsh, Dorothy Glasgow, and Stella Anderson, as well as her two brothers, Steven Gregory and Walter Zink.

Vera is survived by her two children, James (Christine) Russo and Louisa (Gregory) Kremer. Vera was also the beloved grandmother of Stacy (Matthew Johnson) Kremer, Anne Kremer, Nicholas (Alyson Auton) Russo, Vincent Russo, Matthew (Dawn Page) Graulich, Jonna Graulich, Raina Graulich and Carl (Andrea Hathaway) Graulich. Vera also had seven great grandchildren, and Two great-great grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 2250 E Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Tuesday August 6, 2019 at 11 A.M.  Visitation will begin at 10 A.M in the church gathering space.
